Exercise Log 2.18.16

On Tuesday I had every intention to go to water aerobics classes at the Y.  Then both of my friends bailed, the weather was nasty outside, and I was in a funk, so I didn't go at all.  Instead I went home and binged eat, or at least I felt like I did.  I was miserable, and then unhappy that I didn't go to class.

Last night, I was ready and determined to go, even though neither one of my friends were going.  I went to both classes and had a great workout in them both!  I always feel so much better after going.

This picture below isn't from my class, but we do an exercise similar to what they are doing in the picture, and I believe it's definitely one of my new favorites!  I have no idea what it's called though.

Exercise Log 2.11.16

I'm a boss at this water aerobics stuff!  LOL!!  Another two classes tonight at the Y.  I'm definitely glad I'm back to going to them.  I used to only go to them when the weather outside was nicer, but I've been hitting them in the freezing cold, along with snow and rain.  Dedication I tell you.  In fact, I turned down dinner last night with a friend I haven't seen since December because I wanted to stay in the routine of going!

Exercise Log 2.9.16

Two more classes of water aerobics at the Y.

It was freezing cold outside yesterday and snowing and I definitely didn't want to go to the Y for exercise, but I didn't give in to the idea of going home instead.  I headed into class and suffered through the classes.  HA!!  I'm definitely glad I went - I needed to burn off some of the no bake cookies I ate all day yesterday!

My New Swimsuit

Since starting water aerobics at the Y, I've gone through swimsuits like no tomorrow.  First it was the tutu suit.  That wasn't a good one to wear because that skirt kept getting in the way.  My arms would get tangled up in it, it would fly up on my back, I even tried tucking it into the underwear part of the suit, but it didn't help.

Then I found one online from Delta Burke.  Only after a few wears, it started falling apart on me.  Kind of like the material was shredding.  It was livid, because that swimsuit cost close to $100.  And I had to contemplate spending that kind of money for quite a while too.  I called the store to complain about it, but there was nothing they could do for me since I had already worn it.  I vowed to never own another one of her junk swimsuits again.  Yeah, we'll see how that goes.  LOL!!  Read on!

Then about a year later, I bought another one of her swimsuits from a souvenir store in Florida for half the price.  I gave it a try at water aerobics, same thing happened to it.  It started falling apart.

That's when I learned that the chlorine of the Y's swimming pool was eating my suits, and that's always when I learned that you could buy a chlorine resistant swimsuit.  I didn't even realize there was such a thing!

I ordered one from the Y, but the size was entirely too small, so I returned it.

Then I scoured the Internet for a plus size chlorine resistant swimsuit and found a website called Swimsuits for All.  I bought one from there, but after wearing it a few times, I definitely didn't like it.  It was a once piece with attached shorts, and those shorts definitely were weird inside and outside of the water.  Gave that baby away real quick!

Then I came across a website called Swim and Sweat.  I found a Krinkle Chlorine Resistant swimsuit in my size and with a high neck so that my tata's didn't hang out while bouncing around in the water.  I ordered the royal blue color in a size 26W.

I am absolutely blown away by the quality of this swimsuit!  It's a beautiful color, feel, shape, and look.  It holds everything in place, and it's holding up well itself.  I've got quite a few compliments on it too!

I've had it for a few months now and since I love it so much, I went online today and ordered another one in a fun purple color.  I figured if I don't order it now, when I go to get a new one, just like everything else I like, they won't make them anymore!

Exercise Log 3.6.16

Some may not call it exercising but for this chubby girl, landscaping IS exercise! Haha! What started out as pulling a few dead plant leaves turned into cleaning out all of the dead leaves, mulch, and trimming old plants, and then taking it up and hauling the trash can around for clean up. I was exhausted and glad to have it done. I was working up a sweat! Haha!

Exercise Log 2.4.16

Went to water aerobics at the Y again tonight.  Both my friend Amy and my friend Kristi were there.  While I enjoy the water aerobics class, it's alot more fun when you are meeting up with friends there!  I'm so glad they both joined and hope we can all encourage each other to keep going.

I stayed for the 5:30 p.m. and the 6:30 p.m. class.  I'd like to say that I did an hour and 45 minutes of vigorous exercise, however some of that time is spent with the teacher giving instruction, and a few minutes of warm up and cool down exercises.

Exercise Log 2.2.16

Went to water aerobics tonight at the Y. Didn't feel like going since I'm on my period, but a friend wanted to start them so I went. We got 30 minutes of exercise in before they blew the whistle to exit the pool because of the lightening from the storms. It was bittersweet for me 😏!

Exercise...oh my!

So I've been noticing in recent pictures of myself, just how fat my face is getting again and I've decided that it's time to get back into the Y and doing water aerobic classes.  Last night was Tuesday and that meant back to back water aerobics classes.  Boy am I beat today!  My right forearm is so stinking sore today!

2013: New Year, New Start

2013:  New Year, New Start

It's 2013!  The start of a new year!  The start of the new weight loss journey for Shawn and I!  We are focusing at getting back on track with losing weight, working out at the gym, and getting healthier.  We did great two years ago and both lost weight; I can't remember how much Shawn lost but it was over 50 pounds, and I lost 50 pounds, plus we both lost ALOT of inches and just felt healthier and happier.  Then last year, we got off track and I put 32 of those pounds back on.  I'm determined this year to get those 32 pounds back off and more!  Shawn won a free family membership to the YMCA again this year so we have no excuses for not going.  He was up at 4:15 this morning and headed to the gym to walk the track and play basketball with the guys.  I've shaved my legs and have my swimbag ready for water aerobics on Thursday.

Today's lunch consisted of a frozen Healthy Choice General Tso's Spicy Chicken Asian steamer meal and frozen Lean Cuisine egg rolls.  Probably not the greatest, but definitely much better than the egg drop soup, egg roll, white rice, and sweet and sour chicken that I had from Shing Lee's on Monday :(

I weighed in on the scale at work this morning and my starting weight was 331.2 pounds and will weigh-in weekly on Wednesday's.  My work scale is the only scale I'm going to use for weigh-ins to get the most accurate reading.  And I need to have Shawn weigh-in tonight at home to get his starting weight.  I also want to take our measurements and possibly get some "before" picture shots.

Hiking at Audubon Park

(I originally typed this in October 2011 and never got around to posting it for some reason.)

My weight and WW has been somewhat of a roller coaster these past few weeks/months.  At my last weigh-in for WW, I lost 2.2 lbs, so that has me motivated again!  I've found out awhile back that some local parks have hiking trails, in different lengths, and I have been wanting to walk them.  One inparticular at Audubon Park is called the Wilderness Trail and it wraps around a lake out in the middle of nowhere.  The only way to get to this lake is via the trails.  There is a fun wooden bridge around it and I've been wanting to find it and take some pictures of it.  So this past Sunday, Shawn and I had a picnic lunch at Audubon - we had KFC chicken - not the best choice, I know, and then we walked on a few trails.  It was much more of a hike than a walk....

The gray car in the middle of the picture is mine!  I'd never been sooo happy to see my car!

I lost, I lost, I *finally* lost!

I finally *lost* weight at this week's weigh-in.  I feel like the last few weeks, I've been going in the wrong direction - up instead of down.  I lost .8 lb.  I was hoping for more, especially since Mandy and I have walked on our lunch three days this past week, however I haven't eaten the greatest, so I'm sure that's why.  With us starting to walk, and me losing weight this week, it's given me new motivation to get back on track.

I'm Back!

WOW!!  I've been MIA for quite some time haven't I?  Well I'm back, and determined this time to make it work.  I didn't fall of the wagon completely, but I was holding on to the end of the rope and being drug down the road.  I kind of gave up on measuring and tracking, thinking I could do it on my own without that.  And then they stopped the at-work program because not enough people signed up.  I started going back to the meetings at the church in Newburgh, when I knew I had lost weight; when I knew I had gained, I didn't go.  Who wants to pay $12 a week just to get on the scale and them tell me what I already knew!  But I've realized that I HAVE to track and measure, and go to meetings, along with exercise, to make the program work!  I've got a new WW buddy.  While she really isn't new, she's my coworker and really good friend Mandy (her cute picture is below), she is new to being my WW buddy.  She is going to the meetings with me; we have both signed up for the monthly pass, which means we pay in advance so there is no excuse for not going.  We have also started walking on our lunches.  We were going to walk after work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (she's off on Monday and Friday), but that never worked out.  So we decided to walk on our lunch.  Yesterday was our first day.  We walked, ate lunch, and then walked some more.  It felt great!  Once I got back to work, I was excited about walking and excited to walk again!  Today we walked for 30 minutes; I tracked our route on Google maps and we walked one and a half miles today.  I was uber excited!, and can't wait for tomorrow's walk.  So this IS going to work!!  Measure, track, exercise, repeat!

My Sweet Mandy :)

Tracking + Measuring + Exercise = SUCCESS!

This past week I have been very diligent in tracking and measuring my food and have taken water aerobics classes at the Y on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday night, two classes each night.  The result:  minus 3.6 pounds for a total loss of 21.8 pounds.  BLESSING!

Time to get back on track

Wow....it's been over 3 months since I last posted.  I know I need to post more often to help keep me on track with WW.  I feel like I have gotten off track and am right now slowly getting back on track.  I've been having a hard time tracking my food and measuring my food.  When I do these two things, I have seen success.  And when I haven't, I have seen failure on the scale.  Angie and I have also started taking water aerobics at the Y and are loving them!  (I'll create another post about them.)  I know that exercise coupled with diet is nothing but a great thing!  We have another weigh-in tomorrow and I'm kind of iffie about it.  Earlier in the week I felt confident that I had lost weight, but right now I'm not so sure.  I just pray for a blessing from the Lord on the scale tomorrow.

I've been MIA!

I've been struggling the last few weeks with WW.  My plan every day is to stick with it, measure my food, eat what I brought, track my points.  However I'm struggling with this.  It may be that I forget to track, or eat more than I measured, or give into temptations and go out to eat a bad meal, or buy an unfriendly snack at the store.  Whatever it is, I need to give it to God and get focused again.  I'm upset with myself, and that's not good.  So starting this morning, I am getting back on track.

I got up this morning before my alarm went off and went into the bonus room and found some old workout tapes.  I popped ol' Billy Blanks Tae Bo in the VCR and did a little bit of the workout.  No, I didn't finish the tape, but what I did do, well that's better than just thinking about doing it.  I have also measured out and tracked all of my food today.  This is something that I need to get back into the habit of doing.

At the meeting today, I was up 2.6 pounds.  I knew I had gained weight, but didn't realize it was that much.  I also got my 16 week SAS charm.  SAS stands for Stay and Succeed.  It's a little gold looking charm of two hands clapping and has 16 engraved in it.  That means I have been attending meetings for 16 weeks.

Well here she is

Here she is. My new bike...Bubbles. My Uncle Dave met us at the Newburgh Walmart Sunday after church and brought her home for me. I rode her out the door of Walmart and around the parking lot for a few minutes. It was fun, I was acting silly, and I think my husband was embarrassed. LOL!!

Her name is Bubbles

Meet Bubbles.  She's a 26'' Women's Schwinn Delmar Cruiser Bike from Walmart and I can't wait to get her.  I've been wanting to get a new bicycle for some time now cause I need to start exercising to go along with the WW program I am doing.  I love riding bikes, well I did as a kid.  I really haven't ridden much as an adult, but the few times I have, I still loved it.  I have a bike now, but it's quite a few years old and needs new tires and a larger seat.  I took it out for a spin a while back but it was uncomfortable to ride.  But Bubbles, now she's a different story.  I took her for a test spin in the bicycle isle of Walmart earlier in the week and feel in love with her.  I found her online for $99, but in the store she is $119.99 and Walmart wouldn't price match their online price (which I think is ridiculous since they price match other stores), so I had to order her online, then have her shipped to the Newburgh store, and have someone put her together for me.  Which is actually fine with me, cause it gives me time to find someone with a truck to pick her up for me.  I ordered her this evening and I'm hoping she'll be ready by Thursday so that I can have Heather pick her up when she comes into town for our WW meeting.

I found this picture of Bubbles on the Internet and tweaked it some so in real-life, she's not *as* pink, but she's close to it.  She's more the color of Bubbalicious Bubble-Gum, hence the name Bubbles.  When I get her, I'll definitely take pictures of her.  I'm going to get a white wicker basket and add to the front.  I also found a drink holder online that I liked (see pic below) and add that.

A Motivation Goal

This morning I was thinking about my weight and how bad I had eaten all weekend and how I needed to get back on track.  Then I remembered that I currently weight 315.6 pounds and that is only 15.7 pounds away from being under the 300-lb mark.  I can't even begging to tell you when I weighed under 300 pounds, but I know it was pre-Shawn.  LOL!!  So I set a goal for myself that by the time we board the plane for Florida for Dan's wedding on Sunday, September 5, I am going to lose those 15.7 pounds.  That is 5 weeks away and I've been losing about 3 pounds a week with WW just by watching what I am eating, so I'm going to have to continue eating right, but I'm also going to have to step it up a notch and add some exercise into that routine.

I've always enjoyed bike riding and saw a really fun bike at Target the other night.  I have a bike at home, however it needs new tires and a more comfy seat so I haven't been able to ride it.  I mentioned to Shawn the other day that I wanted this bike, so I think I'm going to get it.  Actually I'm going to go to Target tonight to look at it and take a picture of it and then I'll go home and plead my case.  He'll cave...he always does.  I have a great husband like that.

I've also been tossing around the idea of going to the YMCA and doing some water aerobics classes.  I know they have one tonight so I might stop in and check that out to see if it's something I would like or not.

And of course there is just getting out and walking.  I always have an excuse not to do it.  But I need to just get out and do it - even if I start out just walking around the block once.
