Weekend fail

The struggle is real!

Epic fail at writing down everything I was eating.  I failed to record on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Exercise Log 2.18.16

On Tuesday I had every intention to go to water aerobics classes at the Y.  Then both of my friends bailed, the weather was nasty outside, and I was in a funk, so I didn't go at all.  Instead I went home and binged eat, or at least I felt like I did.  I was miserable, and then unhappy that I didn't go to class.

Last night, I was ready and determined to go, even though neither one of my friends were going.  I went to both classes and had a great workout in them both!  I always feel so much better after going.

This picture below isn't from my class, but we do an exercise similar to what they are doing in the picture, and I believe it's definitely one of my new favorites!  I have no idea what it's called though.

Food Log 2.18.16

Snack - About 1/2 of a Large Sonic Sprite

Wednesday Wisdom

Yesterday's workout was bad.  It didn't happen.  I was in a funk, the weather outside was nasty, and neither of my friends who have been motivating me were going to the Y either.  So I went straight home, was miserable and grouchy, and ate everything that sounded good.  Definite failure.  I need to get a mindset that I can go to the Y to workout even when my friends aren't going!

Food Log 2.16.16

Breakfast - 1 serving animal crackers, 3 bites of a chocolate uncrustable

Lunch - Saladworld - manderin chicken salad, no cheese, add onions, ranch, toasted white roll with butter (this meal definitely wasn't as good as it sounds.  Ate the chicken and a few bites of salad, and a couple pieces of the roll and left :( Then I went to Emge's and got a cheeseburger with onion and ketchup

Snack - Horseradish grippos, 1 serving animal crackers

Dinner - 2 cups cheesy potatos and ham

Snack - sweet maui grippos, 2 bowls snow cream with pineapple

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

Food Log 2.15.16

Breakfast - 2 maple and brown sugar oatmeal packets and 2 teaspoons brown sugar, water

Lunch - Taco Bell beef quesarito, and chicken cantina power bowl with no cheese and no quacamole, water

Snack - About a serving of Rothschild pretzels, and two different kinds of dips

Dinner - Jalisco's chips, salsa, cheese dip, 3 flour tortillas, some rice and beans, chicken and eggs, sweet tea

Snack - cake and chocolate ice cream

Food Log 2.13.16 & 2.14.16

I totally blew keeping track of what I had to eat over the weekend, and I'm pretty sure that everything I had was not good either. Of course, I think that's how it is daily for me.

It was Gavin's birthday weekend of fun, so there was lots of junk food involved - cake, ice cream, Sonic soft drinks, Japanese food, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, potato chips, french fries, junk, junk, junk!

I'm writing this food log post on Monday, so today is a new start!

Food Log 2.12.16

Crockpot Cooking

Since we did the Daniel Fast at the beginning of the year, I've been trying to cook at home more.  But with me going to water aerobics on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and not getting home until around 8:00 p.m., who wants to cook that late?  So I've been using the crockpot on those nights so that when I get home, supper is already ready.

Growing up, the only thing my mom used a crockpot for was a meal we called "crockpot".  "Crockpot" for us was stew meat, carrots, potatoes, onions and celery.  I thought that's all you used a crockpot for!  I lived such a sheltered life!  HAHA!!

Obviously now I know that you can cook practically anything in a crockpot.  The other day I was online looking for some new recipes to use in the crockpot.  I came across one for sausage, green beans and potatoes.   You can find the original recipe at Recipes that Crock.

For mine, I used:

2 packages of turkey sausage
1 large onion
3 cans of green beans
3 cans of whole peeled potatoes (cause they are delicious, and it's alot easier to open up the cans with an electric can opener versus manually peeling potatoes!)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder

I put the green beans and onion in the bottom and seasoned them well with salt, pepper and garlic powder.  I put them in first so they can cook all day in the seasoned juices.  Added the potatoes and then the sausage.  Next time I think I'm going to used canned diced potatoes, and will cut the sausage up into smaller pieces.  I set it on low for about 8 hours.

I'm telling you what, this meal was delicious and made alot of food, which was good cause I took it for lunch two days this week too!

And if I remember correctly, I got 12 cups of food out of this and they came to around 199 calories a cup!

Exercise Log 2.11.16

I'm a boss at this water aerobics stuff!  LOL!!  Another two classes tonight at the Y.  I'm definitely glad I'm back to going to them.  I used to only go to them when the weather outside was nicer, but I've been hitting them in the freezing cold, along with snow and rain.  Dedication I tell you.  In fact, I turned down dinner last night with a friend I haven't seen since December because I wanted to stay in the routine of going!

Food Log 2.11.16

Breakfast - 2 packages of maple and brown sugar oatmeal, 2 teaspoons brown sugar, water

Lunch - 2 cups of turkey sausage, green beans, onions and round potatoes, 1 cup of leftover chicken fajita and bell peppers/onions mixture, 1 applesauce cup, water

Snack - 1 serving animal crackers, water

Dinner - Jimmy John's #1 add onion, 1 bag of BBQ chips

Snack - 3 Sweet Hawaiian rolls with 1/2 cup BBQ pulled pork

Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Food Log 2.10.16

Breakfast - frozen PB & J sandwich, water

Lunch - 3 cups turkey sausage, green beans, onions and potatoes from the crockpot, applesauce cup, one serving of animal crackers, water

Snack - McDonalds medium mocha frappe

Dinner - Herraduras chicken fajitas, 3 tortilla shells, couple bites of rice and beans, sour cream, pico, 15 chips, salsa, cheese dip, water

Snack - swig out of the bottle of coconut pineapple juice, 3 animal crackers

Goals

I joined a new Facebook group with a girl I went to high school with, and she had everyone introduce themselves and tell what their goals were.  I've never really wrote any goals down, so I thought I would share what my goals currently are:

1.  Drink more water, which I do drink alot of anyways, and less Sonic Route 44 cokes and sprite.  Every now and then I just crave a Sonic drink and somehow my car just drives itself right there....to often!

2.  Get back to the Y to water aerobics classes.  I go to two classes on Tuesday night, and two classes on Thursday night.  I've since had two friends want to take them, so it's definitely been motivating me to go back to them on a regular basis.

3.  I've been logging my food and exercise into the MyFitnessPal app, however I'm always going over my calories.  I definitely need to work on this one!

4.  I've also gotten back into the habit of blogging on my weight loss blog.  I've been keeping track of my food log and exercise log, and then just trying to have some kind of daily posting.  If anyone else has a weight loss blog, I'd love to follow it!

5.  Cooking at home more.  My husband and I go out to eat WAY too much!  I might cook at home once a week, and the rest of the time we go out to eat or hit a fast food drive through.  So I've been trying to meal plan and use the crockpot more on the nights I'm at the Y late doing water aerobics.

Exercise Log 2.9.16

Two more classes of water aerobics at the Y.

It was freezing cold outside yesterday and snowing and I definitely didn't want to go to the Y for exercise, but I didn't give in to the idea of going home instead.  I headed into class and suffered through the classes.  HA!!  I'm definitely glad I went - I needed to burn off some of the no bake cookies I ate all day yesterday!

Food Log 2.9.16

Breakfast - a no bake cookie, 2 pieces white bread, 2 pieces ultra thin Sargento co-jack cheese, 4 oz. Eckrich deli bologna, water

Snack - 2 no bake cookies

Lunch - Marie Callender's Roasted Garlic Chicken meal, 1/4 cup cole slaw

Snack - 4 no bake cookies, large honey crisp apple

Dinner - 4 cups of turkey sausage, green beans, onions and potatoes in the crockpot

Snack - 3 no bake cookies

Today's lesson - don't make no bake cookies anymore - you eat too many of them and they aren't good for you!!!

Why can't I eat like this all the time?

Below is a blog entry from my other blog All About Us.  It's about the Daniel Fast our church participated in for 21 days in January.  During those 21 days, I had no soda, no sweets, no chocolate, no meats, no white flour, no sugar.  I ate only fruits and veggie, whole grains, brown rice, and a couple "illegal fast items"...veggie burgers, meatless meatballs, and chickenless chicken strips.  I meal planned and cooked every meal for 21 days.  I had no cravings for sodas, or chocolate.  I lost 15 pounds and felt great!  I slept good, I woke up feeling good and energized, I was in a good mood.  Then the fast was over, and all I want to do is eat chocolate and Mexican food, and drink Sonic Route 44 cokes and sprite!  I've put on almost all of the weight I lost during the fast.  Ugh!
_________________________________________

At the beginning of the year, our pastor called for the church to participate in the Daniel Fast for 21 days.  I was very excited to do this and knew that my prayer during the fast was to help me lose weight and get focused on eating better, going back to water aerobics, and trying to lose weight.  I knew after the fast we wouldn't continue to eat like this, but I wanted to incorporate some things into our daily living and focus on cooking at home more versus going out to eat all the time.

I lost 15 pounds on the fast this year, however I've put about 10 of them back on :(  Definitely wasn't the plan, so that's been a huge disappointment :(  I'm such a huge Sonic coke junkie!

You can read about our past experiences with the Daniel Fast here.

I took pictures of all of our meals except for two - one night we had leftovers, and the other night I just completely forgot to take the picture :(

My New Swimsuit

Since starting water aerobics at the Y, I've gone through swimsuits like no tomorrow.  First it was the tutu suit.  That wasn't a good one to wear because that skirt kept getting in the way.  My arms would get tangled up in it, it would fly up on my back, I even tried tucking it into the underwear part of the suit, but it didn't help.

Then I found one online from Delta Burke.  Only after a few wears, it started falling apart on me.  Kind of like the material was shredding.  It was livid, because that swimsuit cost close to $100.  And I had to contemplate spending that kind of money for quite a while too.  I called the store to complain about it, but there was nothing they could do for me since I had already worn it.  I vowed to never own another one of her junk swimsuits again.  Yeah, we'll see how that goes.  LOL!!  Read on!

Then about a year later, I bought another one of her swimsuits from a souvenir store in Florida for half the price.  I gave it a try at water aerobics, same thing happened to it.  It started falling apart.

That's when I learned that the chlorine of the Y's swimming pool was eating my suits, and that's always when I learned that you could buy a chlorine resistant swimsuit.  I didn't even realize there was such a thing!

I ordered one from the Y, but the size was entirely too small, so I returned it.

Then I scoured the Internet for a plus size chlorine resistant swimsuit and found a website called Swimsuits for All.  I bought one from there, but after wearing it a few times, I definitely didn't like it.  It was a once piece with attached shorts, and those shorts definitely were weird inside and outside of the water.  Gave that baby away real quick!

Then I came across a website called Swim and Sweat.  I found a Krinkle Chlorine Resistant swimsuit in my size and with a high neck so that my tata's didn't hang out while bouncing around in the water.  I ordered the royal blue color in a size 26W.

I am absolutely blown away by the quality of this swimsuit!  It's a beautiful color, feel, shape, and look.  It holds everything in place, and it's holding up well itself.  I've got quite a few compliments on it too!

I've had it for a few months now and since I love it so much, I went online today and ordered another one in a fun purple color.  I figured if I don't order it now, when I go to get a new one, just like everything else I like, they won't make them anymore!

I was exhausted and glad to have it done. I was working up a sweat! Haha!

I stayed for the 5:30 p.m. and the 6:30 p.m. class.  I'd like to say that I did an hour and 45 minutes of vigorous exercise, however some of that time is spent with the teacher giving instruction, and a few minutes of warm up and cool down exercises.

Exercise Log 2.2.16

Went to water aerobics tonight at the Y. Didn't feel like going since I'm on my period, but a friend wanted to start them so I went. We got 30 minutes of exercise in before they blew the whistle to exit the pool because of the lightening from the storms. It was bittersweet for me 😏!

Lunch - Marie Callendar's Roasted Turkey Breast & Stuffing frozen meal, apple sauce cup, water

Snack - Honey crisp apple, 5 miniature Hershey candy bars

Dinner - Jimmy Johns #11 (turkey, ham, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, & bread), picke spear, a few jalapeño chips, leftover cheese dip and tortilla chips, some leftover fajita meat

Snack - 2 Almond Joy miniature candy bars

Well I started the day somewhat good, but ended the day like my normal porker self. Disappointed! Tomorrow is a new day.

Let's try this weight loss gig again...

At the end of 2015, I was at my heaviest weight ever - 360.2 pounds!  I was mortified when I got on the scale, and mortified with myself.  I'd been miserable for the last few months. I'd been pulling into the Sonic almost daily for a Route 44 sprite or coke.  I was never cooking at home anymore and we were always eating out for lunches and dinners.  And I had stopped going to water aerobics at the Y.  I did it to myself and definitely wasn't blaming anyone!

Then around the last Sunday of the month, our pastor called the Daniel Fast again at church to start at the beginning of the new year and I was so excited.  I knew it was just the jump start I needed to get back on track.  So for 21 days I meal planned, grocery shopped, cooked healthy and delicious meals,  I never craved a Sonic drink or chocolate, and drank water all the time.  I lost weight - almost 15 pounds - and felt great!  I was determined to keep the pace up.  Then the fast was over.  And I've gotten back into my habit of pulling into the Sonic way too often!  I have been trying to cook at home more often, but I'm sure they aren't the healthiest meals, and I've been trying to bring my lunch instead of going out to eat.  I've also started recording my food into the My Fitness Pay app.  I'm good about putting breakfast and lunch in, and then forget about dinner.  I've started going back to the Y to water aerobics with a friend.

I know it's not going to happen overnight, and it's definitely going to take time.  But hopefully little small steps will add up to great results.

Please pray for me, I need the prayers.  I pray for myself, but just feel like God isn't answering my prayers.  I just have to pray for his will to be done!
