The struggle is real!

Exercise Log 2.18.16

On Tuesday I had every intention to go to water aerobics classes at the Y.  Then both of my friends bailed, the weather was nasty outside, and I was in a funk, so I didn't go at all.  Instead I went home and binged eat, or at least I felt like I did.  I was miserable, and then unhappy that I didn't go to class.

Last night, I was ready and determined to go, even though neither one of my friends were going.  I went to both classes and had a great workout in them both!  I always feel so much better after going.

This picture below isn't from my class, but we do an exercise similar to what they are doing in the picture, and I believe it's definitely one of my new favorites!  I have no idea what it's called though.

Wednesday Wisdom

Yesterday's workout was bad.  It didn't happen.  I was in a funk, the weather outside was nasty, and neither of my friends who have been motivating me were going to the Y either.  So I went straight home, was miserable and grouchy, and ate everything that sounded good.  Definite failure.  I need to get a mindset that I can go to the Y to workout even when my friends aren't going!

Food Log 2.16.16

Breakfast - 1 serving animal crackers, 3 bites of a chocolate uncrustable

Lunch - Saladworld - manderin chicken salad, no cheese, add onions, ranch, toasted white roll with butter (this meal definitely wasn't as good as it sounds.  Ate the chicken and a few bites of salad, and a couple pieces of the roll and left :( Then I went to Emge's and got a cheeseburger with onion and ketchup

Snack - Horseradish grippos, 1 serving animal crackers

Dinner - 2 cups cheesy potatos and ham

Snack - sweet maui grippos, 2 bowls snow cream with pineapple

Food Log 2.13.16 & 2.14.16

I totally blew keeping track of what I had to eat over the weekend, and I'm pretty sure that everything I had was not good either. Of course, I think that's how it is daily for me.

It was Gavin's birthday weekend of fun, so there was lots of junk food involved - cake, ice cream, Sonic soft drinks, Japanese food, cinnamon rolls, sandwiches, potato chips, french fries, junk, junk, junk!

I'm writing this food log post on Monday, so today is a new start!

Crockpot Cooking

Since we did the Daniel Fast at the beginning of the year, I've been trying to cook at home more.  But with me going to water aerobics on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and not getting home until around 8:00 p.m., who wants to cook that late?  So I've been using the crockpot on those nights so that when I get home, supper is already ready.

Growing up, the only thing my mom used a crockpot for was a meal we called "crockpot".  "Crockpot" for us was stew meat, carrots, potatoes, onions and celery.  I thought that's all you used a crockpot for!  I lived such a sheltered life!  HAHA!!

Obviously now I know that you can cook practically anything in a crockpot.  The other day I was online looking for some new recipes to use in the crockpot.  I came across one for sausage, green beans and potatoes.   You can find the original recipe at Recipes that Crock.

For mine, I used:

2 packages of turkey sausage
1 large onion
3 cans of green beans
3 cans of whole peeled potatoes (cause they are delicious, and it's alot easier to open up the cans with an electric can opener versus manually peeling potatoes!)
Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder

I put the green beans and onion in the bottom and seasoned them well with salt, pepper and garlic powder.  I put them in first so they can cook all day in the seasoned juices.  Added the potatoes and then the sausage.  Next time I think I'm going to used canned diced potatoes, and will cut the sausage up into smaller pieces.  I set it on low for about 8 hours.

I'm telling you what, this meal was delicious and made alot of food, which was good cause I took it for lunch two days this week too!

And if I remember correctly, I got 12 cups of food out of this and they came to around 199 calories a cup!
